Electrical Design Engineer - King's Lynn

The Role

The Electrical Design Engineer will report to the Williams Group Refrigeration Manager.  You will be an integral part of the Williams UK and Williams International engineering team, working closely with our key suppliers and technical partners.

Electrical design of our products

Working in close association with our refrigeration and production engineering teams, you will be responsible for the overall electrical system design and management of our new product development activities including to:

  • Identify new innovations, interpret and translate customer and application needs into new electrical designs to support our new product development
  • Design and program the electrical and electronic controls used within our products by working in association with our specialist partners
  • Electrical control panel design incorporating 3 phase power supply
  • Industrial networking systems and IoT connectivity development
  • Electrical loading and technical calculations
  • Specification of electrical components

Test & risk assess products for safety, quality, and eco design values

Maintaining accurate temperature control, and optimising energy efficiency are core functions of our product design and performance values. We have leading test facilities, and also work closely with third party test houses to ensure the highest of performance standards are upheld. Our electrical design engineer is required to:

  • Ensure products comply with electrical health and safety requirements
  • Adhere to UK, EU and International Electrical safety standards
  • Maintain electrical safety procedures with the business
  • Lead the evaluation and advance of new electronic controller design and appliance testing
  • Have experience of appliance testing & commissioning


Upholding best practice electrical conformity standards

The electrical design engineer is central to upholding our ISO quality, safety and environmental standards. A key element of the role includes the:

  • Preparation of electrical documents including Wiring diagrams, control panel layouts and appliance manual
  • Maintain Product technical files for CE / UKCA / ETL and Third Party test house verification
  • Defining the regulatory and safety requirements of our product designs to the Low Voltage, EMC and Machinery directives


Electrical engineering support to our manufacturing & technical teams

Provide best electrical work standards and safety advice to colleagues:

  • Conduct electrical safety product audits
  • Production line inspections of electrical build standards
  • Colleague support and training in best practice electrical work methods
  • Periodic on site supervision and fault finding


The Person

This is a key role in our engineering team and a great chance to work within a leading international manufacturing group. We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate:

  • A passion for Electrical Engineering – HNC/ HND or degree in Electrical engineering. C&G NVQ 3 Electrical + electronics Installation to IET BS 7671 18th Edition.
  • Highly motivated and confident with a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles. Competent in all technical aspects of electrical system design and development.
  • Diligent with an attention to detail, with a flexible approach to delivering solutions to electrical engineering, wiring and technical problems.
  • Experience of programming PLCs would be an advantage along with knowledge of WS CAD.
  • Hands-on management style. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships within the business at all levels. You will be required to provide electrical engineering input and contribution at senior management level.
  • A Can Do make it happen person, able to manage a dynamic workload. Commercial awareness and ability to work with precision and pace, in order to meet project timescales and budget objectives.
  • This role is based at our King’s Lynn head office however you should have the flexibility for periodic UK and international travel and work away from home as required. A full driving licence is necessary.

Area Sales Manager - South East England

Key Objective                      

This role will include increasing business within ongoing accounts through new or additional products, plus bringing new sales to the company within its aggressive growth plans. You will join an existing team of Area Sales Managers and Business Development Managers that work closely together to achieve the overall sales target.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring effective company representation

    • To represent Williams Refrigeration South East England covering London. Surrey, West Sussex, East Sussex & Kent.
    • Responsibility for all business in the geographical area covering distributors, Public Sector and end user specification.
    • Liaising with existing and new clients to promote the company and its products at every opportunity.
  • Ensuring effective sales growth

    • Increasing business within ongoing accounts through new or additional products as well as bringing new sales opportunities to the company.
    • Promote Continual Improvement to maximise sales and customer satisfaction.

Key Person Requirements and Skills

  • Good communication and the ability to react to customer demands.
  • Flexible working. Being able to work independently and part of a team.
  • Clean driving license.
  • Computer literate. Competent with Word, Excel and Powerpoint to produce reports on monthly sales, products sold and future opportunities.
  • Ideally have a successful background in sales within the foodservice industry.

Other duties and responsibilities

  • Any other ad hoc duties as may be requested by your Manager including the attendance at other Williams facilities, customer and supplier sites, as well as exhibitions
  • You may be required to work additional hours in ensuring that duties, responsibilities and reporting requirements are met.

Marketing Communications Executive - King's Lynn

Key Objective                      

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, your main focus shall be to help the production of high quality on and offline marketing communications including product brochures, exhibition graphics, advertising and direct mail campaigns as well as taking an active role in B2B social media planning and implementation.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Copywriting and producing content for use on the company website, across Social Media platforms and other marketing materials such as sales brochures, advertisements and promotional E shots.
  • Liaising closely with graphic designers(s) to produce high quality materials, consistent with the corporate brand standard. This will include compiling accurate briefs, co-ordinating with internal / external personnel and proofing & editing.
  • Plan / write / upload Social Media posts as well as monitoring competition and industry Social channels
  • Attend and art direct studio photographic / video shoots. Will also include attending / photographing at customer site visits
  • Attend Trade exhibitions  and events for Stand build / breakdown
  • Help to produce marketing materials using the tools available, delivering to a high standard, on time.
  • Upload articles to the company website and amend web pages as needed.
  • Use SEO tools to identify areas of opportunity / improvement and carry out tasks needed to do so
  • Company photography at Events
  • Provide general support to Marketing Manager

 Skills / Qualifications

  • Educated to ‘A’ Level standard with a focus on Business / Marketing and a Technical / Engineering bias being preferable.
  • Good copywriting skills
  • Time management - the ability to multi task, stick to tight deadlines and have an eye for detail.
  • Good knowledge and experience of planning / writing / posting / monitoring B2B social media
  • Ideally, ability to use Creative Suite software (CS5.5) to a moderate level - including In-Design; Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Ability to use Word / Microsoft Office to a good standard

CAD Operator - King's Lynn

Situated in the Engineering Department the CAD Operator will be required to create high quality 2D and 3D, detailed technical drawings and plans from our designs.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare / issue drawings / programs to Production.
  • Create and maintain bills of materials for manufactured spare parts.
  • Document specification.
  • Assist the Design / Engineering team in creating / maintaining product data.
  • Implement value engineering.
  • Conduct concurrent engineering.
  • Develop product enhancements.
  • Deploy cost targets.
  • Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions to perform duties and aid business and process continual improvement.
  • Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills.

 Personal Specification

  • Experience of 2D and 3D CAD (Solidworks would be an advantage).
  • Understanding of sheet metal machine programming.
  • Background in engineering or manufacturing.
  • Demonstrable ability with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communicator

Refrigeration Installation Engineer - Scotland

We are currently recruiting for a Refrigeration Installation Engineer to cover the central region of the UK, operating out of our Edinburgh facility.

The main goal of this role is to carry out the installation of coldrooms, associated pipe work and refrigeration systems including the testing and commissioning process. To carry out decommissioning, removal and maintenance of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment covering the entire range of Williams and other manufactured products supplied and installed throughout the UK.

Qualifications required

  • NVQ / C&G Refrigeration Based Qualification
  • Refrigerant Handling C&G 2079 F-Gas or equivalent CITB certificate

Experience and knowledge

Preferably with a time served apprenticeship in refrigeration you will have experience as a Refrigeration Engineer or in refrigeration project management with an engineering background. You should also be able to show some prior experience installing coldrooms, air conditioning, retail refrigeration or other refrigeration services.

It is essential that you have in depth experience of all different types of refrigeration systems and knowledge of electrical requirements of refrigeration systems.

You will be customer friendly with good interpersonal skills.

A full driving license is essential.

To manage contract installations ensuring that the installing engineers are fully competent and equipped to fulfil the requirements of the job and to manage the associated Health and Safety and legal requirements for the business unit.

To oversee and assist in the installation of coldrooms, associated pipe work and refrigeration systems including the testing and commissioning process, including decommissioning, removal and maintenance of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, covering the entire range of Williams and other manufactured products supplied and installed throughout the UK.

We are currently recruiting a Electrician Installation Manager to cover the central region of the UK, operating out of our Doncaster facility.

The main goal of this role is:

Experience

  • Competent IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671
  • 2360 Electrical Installations
  • Good working knowledge of 18th Edition and a member of NICEIC

You will have experience as an electrical engineer or in electrical project management with an engineering background, preferably with some experience in installing coldrooms, air conditioning, retail refrigeration or other electrical services.

A full driving license is essential.
