Williams Refrigeration has donated commercial refrigeration equipment to Five Acre Wood School as part of the 'Made FAW You' catering training space, a project primarily funded by the Costa Foundation that transformed an existing teaching kitchen into a fully equipped commercial kitchen.
Five Acre Wood is an all-age (4–19) specialist school in Maidstone for pupils with Profound, Severe and Complex Learning Difficulties. The school delivers learning through a range of innovative projects that help pupils build life skills, independence and confidence.

The ‘Made FAW You’ catering space forms part of this approach, giving pupils hands-on experience in catering, food preparation and food hygiene in an industry standard kitchen.
Williams was delighted to donate a Jade refrigerated upright cabinet (HJ1SA) and an Amber slimline upright cabinet (HA400) to the kitchen, providing the essential refrigeration needed to support daily food production and storage.
The equipment will also support the school’s FAWrient Express café, the new on-site shop Peggy’s FAWtique, and a range of school and community events.

Tim Williams, Headteacher at Five Acre Wood School, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to Williams Refrigeration for their generous donation of a commercial fridge and freezer to support our new ‘Made FAW You’ commercial catering training space. These units will play a vital role in creating an authentic industry-standard environment where our pupils can develop practical catering, food preparation and food safety skills.
At Five Acre Wood School, we are passionate about preparing our pupils for adulthood. For the young people we serve, opportunities to gain real-world workplace experience can be truly transformational and this equipment will help us provide meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
The support of organisations such as Williams Refrigeration enables us to turn ambitious ideas into reality and create opportunities that would otherwise not be possible. Their generosity will have a lasting impact on our pupils and their families for many years to come, and we cannot thank them enough for helping us invest in the futures of our young people.”
Malcolm Harling, Sales and Marketing Director at Williams Refrigeration, said:
“We were delighted to support Five Acre Wood School and the 'Made FAW You' project.
Hearing about the opportunities a genuine commercial kitchen could offer its pupils, it felt like exactly the kind of initiative we wanted to be involved in. We hope our equipment plays a meaningful role in shaping the pupils’ futures.”
The donation reflects Williams Refrigeration's commitment to supporting community initiatives through equipment donations.
